I launched on Product Hunt with essentially zero following. No audience, no newsletter, no viral tweet. I am documenting real numbers because most PH posts are survivorship bias.
Results (Honest)
- Peak ranking: #14 in Developer Tools for a few hours
- Upvotes at EOD: 47
- Site traffic spike: ~1,200 sessions (vs ~80 daily baseline)
- Signups attributable to PH: 3 waitlist emails, 0 paid clients

00:01 PST: Post live, first comment with build story.06:00: Reply to every comment. 09:00:Share to Indie Hackers (more traction than PH for me).12:00: Traffic peak, server fine on Vercel.18:00: Ranking slips as bigger launches dominate.23:59: Update post with honest retrospective.
Product Hunt is a visibility event, not a GTM strategy. I would do it again for backlinks and social proof, but my 90-day plan is outbound + content + case studies | not launch platforms alone.
